Gimp 3.0: The new version of the free program will be released soon

The image editing program Gimp, available for MacOS, Linux, and Windows, has for several years been considered the only alternative to Photoshop. However, the problem has been that the program was difficult to use without knowledge - something they tried to change in 2020 by making it easier for those switching from Photoshop to get into the program with PhotoGimp.

Since then, the program has been further developed. Now so many different functions have been added that the program version is ready to reach version 3. At any moment, the finished program will be released, but you can already download a fully functional and almost finished version called Gimp 3.0 RC2, as in "Release Candidate".

The new features in version 3 are many, but some of the most important are the ability to work non-destructively with various layer adjustments such as levels, colors, or curves. Also new is the interface, which has been improved to suit high-resolution displays. The XCF file format has also been added, which is Gimp's own format for further working on an image where you have made changes with, for example, different layers.

Exactly when the final version of Gimp 3.0 will be released has not yet been revealed.
