Hasselblad Foundation launches Fotosalongen 2025
Fotosalongen aims to reflect the breadth of photography - everything from documentary, nature, science, politics, art - and everything in between.
The Hasselblad Foundation's new initiative, Fotosalongen, opens in the summer of 2025 with the ambition to fill the walls of the Hasselblad Center. The idea behind the initiative is to promote the photographic landscape, and to offer visitors unexpected encounters and surprises, where established artistry meets new talents and photographers who have been active for a long time but have not yet shown their works - until now.
Both amateurs and professional photographers can apply with their images through an "open call", across all different photography genres. The selection will not be limited to a specific theme but will instead focus on identifying captivating images and stories that resonate with depth and expressive diversity.
The selection process will be conducted by a jury consisting of, among others, Eva Dahlgren, artist and photographer, and Paul Hansen, award-winning photographer at Dagens Nyheter.
The works selected for the exhibition at the Hasselblad Center in Gothenburg will be seen by an audience of around 70,000 visitors during the summer of 2025 and included in the exhibition catalog.
Participants in the exhibition will also receive a fee of 3,200 SEK, and the Hasselblad Foundation will purchase a number of works from the exhibition for its permanent collection. All works in the exhibition will be for sale and all profits will go to the photographers.
The application period is September 2 - November 30, 2024. Read more on the Hasselblad Foundation's website.
