Leica Q3 43 - additional focal length options for the Q family

Leica complements its Q3 family with the compact full-frame camera Q3 43 with a focal length of 43mm - in addition to the previous Q3 with 28mm.

Leica has done well with the handling of its compact full-frame camera Q3 with a 28mm focal length and the Leica Summilux 28 f/1.7 ASPH lens released last year. There are downsides - but the focus on the value of the image and the photographic experience makes the camera a winner, according to our previous test.

From now on, the camera is also available in the 43mm focal length and the APO-Summicron 43 f/2.0 ASPH lens, which according to Leica perfectly matches how the human eye perceives the world. The new lens has been specifically developed to fit in the compact format and is not a further development of existing lenses.

The new apochromatic lens has been designed with image sharpness in mind, including by allowing the color spectrum to converge at the same point, which contributes to higher image quality than allowing the division to occur at different points as in a regular lens.

Otherwise, the similarities are great between Leica Q3 (28mm) and the new Leica Q3 43, where the weight of the latter is 51 grams more at 794 grams, depending on the lens. For digital cropping, you can choose 43, 60, 75, 90, 120, or 150mm on the Q3 43.

The recommended price for the Leica Q3 43 is 81,490 kronor including VAT. The camera is available to order now. With the camera, a new leather case, Multifunctional Protector Q3, is also released, priced at 2,990 kronor including VAT.
