Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra: Here are the cameras

Among the new features, we find "Pro Visual Engine" image processing, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra has a brand new 50-megapixel wide-angle camera.

Both the appearance and specifications of the new Samsung S25 and S25 Plus resemble the predecessor Galaxy S24. However, the cameras have received a slightly different design on the phones. New, however, is that all three models get Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, something that will provide a noticeable performance boost in computing power.

The processor is also said to be better at handling graphics and neural operations, which means that the addition "for Galaxy" helps with Samsung's AI upscaling of primarily moving images in film and games running on the processor.

The faster chipset is used, among other things, to improve the capabilities of the cameras, which have now received new image processing software, "Pro Visual Engine." This is supposed to provide better object recognition and color reproduction when photographing and be better at adapting the images to different lighting conditions - and also provide better images in low light, even in videos.

The camera hardware is the same as in the previous model regarding sensors and optics: Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus also have a main camera of 50 megapixels, a wide-angle camera of 12 megapixels, and a telephoto camera with three times optical zoom of 10 megapixels.

The exception is that the Galaxy S25 Ultra has received a new wide-angle camera of 50 megapixels (compared to the predecessor's 12 MP), which provides better images in macro photography. The other cameras on the Galaxy S25 Ultra are as before a main camera of 200 megapixels with an aperture of f/1.7, phase-detection autofocus, and built-in optical image stabilization.

In addition, the flagship model Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra also has two telephoto cameras, one with three times zoom and the other with five times optical zoom in a periscope design.

Samsung Galaxy S25 is sold with 128, 256, or 512 GB of storage. The price starts at 11,500 kronor. Galaxy S25 Plus is sold with 256 or 512 GB and costs 14,450 kronor and up. Galaxy S25 Ultra is sold with 256, 512, or 1024 GB and costs from 18,000 kronor and up - which also includes six months of Gemini Advanced and 2 terabytes of cloud storage.
