Samyang AF 12mm F2 RF-S - ultra-wide angle for Canon
Now Samyang's bright ultra-wide angle lens in APS-C is also released for Canon's RF-S mount.
The Samyang AF 12mm f/2 lens is already available for both Fujifilm X and Sony E - but now it's also time for the Canon mount, as the lens is released for Canon's APS-C cameras with RF-S mount.
According to Samyang, the lens is suitable for landscapes, street photography, architecture, and astrophotography, and they also state that the lens is lightweight and compact, with a weight of 213 grams and a length of 57 mm.
The lens has an optical construction consisting of 12 elements in 10 groups with three ED elements and two aspherical lenses (1 H-ASP, 1 ASP). The combination is said to provide images with minimal distortion, chromatic aberration, and high sharpness from edge to edge. The lens is also weather-sealed for a more durable construction.
The autofocus system is powered by Samyang's STM focus motor (stepping motor) which is quiet and fast, suitable for hybrid photographers working with both still images and video. The lens has an AF-MF switch on the side.
Samyang AF 12mm F2 RF-S is available from December 2024. The recommended price is 4,990 kronor including VAT.
